Just a few weeks ago, we saw the future at Coverings, the North American Tile and Stone trade show. Here's the scoop on our five favorite products:
In first place, Architectural Glass Slabs:
With a recycled content of up to 100%, this quickly became our favorite from Coverings 2011. With sizes up to 48”x144”, this is the perfect pizzaz for residential or commercial spaces. 24 colors available in two styles, Ribbon and Crush. Click here for the technical details.
The latest Italian trend, SLIM is 1/8” thick and can be installed over existing floors and walls with +/- 1/8” variance over a 6 ½ foot span. A porcelain product backed with fiberglass, eliminates demolition (no one likes all that dust,) and results in lower freight costs. Available in various colors and large format up to 4’x8’.
#3. Carved Stone:
Artistic Tile took their hand carved Ambra tile to a new level this year. The popular wave like pattern is now offered in Bianco Carrera. Building on the Ambra concept, Ziva soared to a new level with two innovative patterns. Ziva leaves was awarded Best of Year from Interior Design Magazine.
Revolv is one of the most inventive “green” products to hit the market. Comprised of 76% recycled content, primarily limestone dust, Revolv is available in a myriad of organic colors and three dimensional shapes. Arriving at our showrooms early May.
#5. Let’s Have Fun!
We couldn’t help but to notice the incredibly playful mosaic trend. As you probably know, Italians love to tile floor to ceiling whereas the Americans prefer tile as an accent. To cater to the American market, Sicis displayed their graphic mosaic patterns in a backsplash perfect size. Now you tell me you can’t imagine these as drop dead gorgeous backsplashes!
Everyone at Decorative Materials wants to give you their full attention when you visit the showroom, so if you have the option, please make an appointment with your design consultant. The advance notice will allow them to focus completely on you and your needs and give you all the time and attention you deserve!
