A Freedom Service Dog must love to “work.” It is critical for Cathy, Stellar’s trainer, to watch for signs that indicate that Stellar loves to “work.” Together they’ve begun to work on very specific tasks.

This week Stellar is learning how to pick up many items, such as keys, credit cards, cell phones and other necessary items. For someone who needs a brace and balance dog, picking up items is essential because bending over can be dangerous.
